Ash Chopra, CPWA®
Ash Chopra is the Founder and CEO of Syon Capital. With over two decades of experience in the financial industry, Ash established Syon to provide holistic, fiduciary advice and family office experience to a select group of ultra-affluent clients nationwide. Specializing in estate and tax planning, he is deeply committed to enhancing the client experience and building long-term relationships rooted in trust and transparency. Ash is also passionate about supporting early-stage founders as they navigate complex financial decisions.
Prior to launching Syon, Ash spent 18 years at Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, most recently serving as a Managing Director in the firm’s Private Wealth Management division. He began his professional career as an engineer, working in the field for over a decade before earning his MBA from the University of Michigan and transitioning into finance. He joined Goldman Sachs as a Private Wealth Associate, where he developed a client-focused mindset that continues to guide his work today. Ash credits his engineering background for enabling him to bring a unique perspective to wealth management—one that emphasizes simplification of complex issues and a focus on quantifiable outcomes.
In addition to his MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, he holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. He also briefly attended St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, India, and holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designation.1
Outside of work, Ash enjoys traveling, golf, skiing, and spending time with his family. He is also actively involved in the community and serves on several nonprofit boards.
